- Q* W8 C5 z1 S0 ~) STHE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
( P4 n k" d& O2 J9 O24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
- @! E- e8 L9 _$ a+ \. f E! _This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
# [; k& i0 V6 T, @/ [! |; MEligibility Criteria5 ^ {, Q* Y% n* g
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
. {& P* `8 z* c% d•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
: R! M* ]; T8 _+ J•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education7 G) J4 u$ K4 E& g S0 H8 d
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English, d3 k5 ~/ O# P
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
8 l3 M, g! r* ^ Z O! g•No prior Canadian work experience in their field# [* a3 e( @2 `( S. {
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
& z; a0 k2 w; ~•Be eligible to work in Canada
0 k0 S0 g* x4 _" S) n. {•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop3 d) R: o) t3 ~: B: t
•Lack access to professional networks
! e/ }8 `9 n0 I. Q" T* F•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
