City council is considering putting 30-kilometre-an-hour zones around some schools, after pressure from parents.

Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.

"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.5 q- g4 M! t& p+ l
