+ N+ _3 H6 @- W5 f3 t- G- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment ) {6 {- S/ p) b/ Q) s. f- ^9 h
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
* l7 i# c( Y5 F b" n9 p5 j1 n3 Z# k- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines! o, q" S G$ K: C: v* \! _6 e
- Select type and size of pipe required
6 @# O# }* _5 W& G- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools$ C# c+ B) N( v) m/ W& _
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
& x2 N. W G% [6 v$ \# o- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems& j4 `! C1 y, j2 E6 T
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment# f# c g+ A( u2 k. o
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system4 y- \! F: f2 v1 R: o4 X. a
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
% I! s* ~" Z- O- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program2 s) ^* e( S& ]
- Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business- ~$ d+ `# R( o# T: ]( U

- Completion of secondary school
7 O8 @! u0 z4 w1 i" \5 s% g7 c/ o- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
]4 p( Z, d, N1 s- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals5 P6 _0 F* T% k) R
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence% N) ]3 l) R! ~! F1 N# A7 w7 `( @
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
- P9 g+ q, x8 v+ p9 [6 d: Y) x+ D- Safety tickets are considered an asset
