Responsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
! \' l4 ?$ N: I: }( N7 |2 A-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
' t$ A" [; Y. X1 _  R3 L-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
. E) g$ H: p( l-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
' q; Z6 K8 p0 s& Z& `-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business


Required Qualifications

/ K3 X0 t) ]; P' n; j, `-        Completion of secondary school
- d2 @0 B% L2 }6 h3 x-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
* O- K# d+ C2 S; \5 j-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset

-        Completion of secondary school
-        Completion of a four year apprenticeship program
-        A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician
-        Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal
-        Basic English communication skills
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
