The Hydrangea looks like an indoor type.

this is my first wood work project. Did not want to spend too much money on the material. I will make a cedar planter box next time.
Any suggestion on waterproofing the box?

The hydrangea did not have discription tag when I bought it. I think it's Zone5, so has to be kept indoor I guess.

Anything you buy for sealing or waterproofing it may cost more than the cedar lumber, I would rather leave it as what it is now and just make a new one when its lifespan ends.

deck after paint 1st coat. I was not sure about which color to pick, but the result is pretty dramatic, at least it shows good on the picture.

Haven't put it together yet.  You can see I am doing some sort of deck maintainance today.
plus, just extended my flower bed and put the rose in the ground this morning.  It will take a few years to grow and really show what I want to achieve. Now I can show you the garden layout and some area detail.  I think the layout is the hardest part.  I have read one book so far and researched many websites and videos, been in nurseries and greenhouses and took many pictures of this yard to observe and understand the sun and shade.  Meanwhile, it takes me few months to remove the deadwood and the raspberry in the yard.  I still found some raspberry roots this morning when I was building the flower bed.  It's so tough to remove.
I got 2 trees from previous owner both are 9-10 years old. Very good trees. One is mayday, it provides shade, privacy and attracts birds. Another one is crabapple, very pretty when it was blooming in Spring and it has pretty foliage color.  Done some light pruning for the mayday and haven't got time to work on the crabapple, it's leaning towards wrong way now.
I am doing sort of bakyard renovation...  Got some plants from my coworker, she's dividing her plants and I have bought some of my own.
This is my first year in this home, have to try soil and sun, etc.  It's been busy and fun.  I think the reason Gardening is so attractive to me is because its both science and art.  You have to measure, observe, calculate and follow the basic fact, and at the sametime you create and put in your own view and add personality to it.

my indoor plants, first one is 文竹
为百合科天门冬属植物文竹（Asparagus plumosus Baker），以根入药，有治疗急性气管炎和止咳作用，具有润肺功能。以盆栽观叶为主，又为重要切叶材料。其性喜温暖湿润和半阴环境，不耐严寒，不耐干旱，忌阳光直射。适生于排水良好、富含腐殖质的砂质壤土。生长适温为15-25℃，越冬温度为5℃。
文竹是“文雅之竹”的意思。其实它不是竹，只因其叶片轻柔，常年翠绿，枝干有节似竹，且姿态文雅潇洒，故名文竹。
文竹的花语：象征永恒，朋友纯洁的心，永远不变。婚礼用花中，它是婚姻幸福甜蜜，爱情地久天长的象征。
