New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

9 c3 R$ `! ?# O0 q7 R" ? Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
4 u) @/ U. @0 I1 p2 d2 z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( l: [1 _1 y4 E( Q7 ]* K Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
$ x5 h( b  g" D& d9 z Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' a3 L' U: y5 o6 u3 c# I) W' { Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
" z7 ?) D( z. M  R  U- m
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
& F$ u* R0 {& Y' R4 s; ]1 v  `8 k9 o Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 q  v1 k6 u- t& Z5 {, G8 A Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
/ \% U9 \* \" d3 Q: |. v4 G6 e. @starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
