Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

3 h: t0 T# z2 i. t+ { Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
! N& d" O6 B* [ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
8 T3 ~) r8 ~; y6 J8 f+ O# K; r Completing required paperwork.
$ N9 ^/ W/ b8 p0 }0 G/ d* y, ^ Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 u2 V7 m# e# f! T) ^: s# \! o  E( o" } Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
# Z, s9 ~7 k4 l8 [* i Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
% U' v' t3 d8 F) J1 [: x2 H0 ~ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
# u: m, b0 I0 r" w! d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
$ i4 V6 ]. j; D- n4 ^ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
! G: m- E# ~/ Y8 H8 N! N* ~5 s Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
9 X3 ?; C( ]) W$ A. \9 _* g Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
0 F% K4 Q6 L8 ~/ {! QThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
' L, O1 M( w$ |: {% E* Jstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
