Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
9 I# g& V2 K, J6 H; v4 D8 @- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
5 R2 D3 \' H# K; ?- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties& s+ U/ b& e) k+ V# _
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties. E+ x5 Z' r" |% ?: |. x
- provide volunteers for various programs ) p' `2 g, V1 A2 U* K, d% o6 M
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual0 r+ c3 ~$ p. D2 s( \. x7 Y
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
3 m( I8 n$ ^7 d( I4 a- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& j! J! [; b+ s$ g8 J
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
6 K7 k4 H- T. J; `2 ?- L1 B" F- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports* ? B. `+ b. @# i% v" J1 Y
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed r0 T; a9 j4 `& g2 i
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
( A3 F" M3 V9 K- I) A; x4 y- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
) e; [- o2 E2 c- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
) X- l k0 j/ r' ]5 i/ L- development and distribution of a volunteer manual $ X4 y0 z! ^) w5 h6 j
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers , S* U9 M1 f, u3 {% a! V
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers / Y; A" H5 ?. Y& E$ V
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
+ P) y1 i* T {) ~3 ~, V, _1 ~- evaluations 4 E- j2 {$ w+ m$ z$ J
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

) H3 _" c- Y" x2 i3 V wQualifications
& r$ p3 t# O4 u0 J; U- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
$ W; o: L" k7 q; E- good oral and written Chinese and English skills' H- E6 D, v3 p9 l
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services7 u, d0 \- a% P: ]
- leadership skills- X) u; Y) l" z% f$ A) ^
- management and supervision skills+ J$ x5 K8 N C+ \1 Y6 j
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills7 C% }6 s0 w9 L7 m+ W C1 ]
