I find it difficult to read an English novel. It is not because we cannot read, since most of us have a relatively large vocabulary to comprehend the plots. I believe it is due to our reading habit. Personally I spend about half an hour each day reading online fantasy books in Chinese. It is a kind of reward to my hard work of the day.

# X( l3 y% H. D; uHowever we all know that we live and work in Canada and we know the importance of being good at English. No matter how good our English is, we can always improve it. This being said, if we read novels only for the purpose of improving English, it would be boring, tiring, and demanding. We are already tired after a day's hard work, why do we have to exert extra efforts in doing something that is good but not a must? On the contrary, if the novels are interesting, reading them will be a pleasure. Yet being interesting or not depends on many factors. Many people would find a very interesting novel less interesting.

% @1 p! e8 B' y/ V6 tThis is what I do to excite my interest in a novel: watch the movie first. There are many great books that were made into movies. For example, gone with the wind, the godfater, etc.

Last night I watched the movie "The breakfast at Tiffany's". Audrey Hepburn played the girl Holly. I am sure you must have seen "Roman Holiday". Yes, the same great Hepburn. After seeing the movie, I could not help searching for the book.
